Pesto. It’s one of those things I always saw and heard about, but never tried. Something about it giving you bad breath. Well, I decided to leave out the bad-breath ingredient in my pesto. That’s right. No garlic. For you garlic lovers, go ahead and add yours in. I just prefer my garlic cooked, that’s all. Raw garlic and me just don’t agree… So, this is non-garlic Quick 5-Minute Pesto. You just mix and blend. That’s it!
You need: 1 cup fresh basil leaves, 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 cup pine nuts, salt and pepper to taste.
I used a little hand mixer to blend everything up. You just fill the little container up with what you want to mix, and then pulse until pureed. We used this machine nearly every day for our baby when blending him up our lunches and dinners for about 6 months. We’re finally past that phase now so I finally had an occasion to bring this trusted little machine out again.
It’s a fun little machine and doesn’t take up too much room in your kitchen.
Once you have put in all of the ingredients into the blender, just pulse it! If it’s looking too thick, just add a drizzle more of olive oil.
Enjoy your pesto over a big bowl of your favorite pasta.
Enjoy, because you can totally make out with your loved one after 🙂
